Croatia’s Luka Plantic produced a composed, impressive display of pressure fighting to stop Jack Cullen of Britain in five rounds

It is often said that honesty is the best policy and Jack Cullen makes no excuses for the lacklustre display which saw him lose his British and Commonwealth super middleweight titles to Zak Chelli in January.

Less than a month after losing his British and Commonwealth titles to Zak Chelli, Jack Cullen has been handed an unexpected chance to get back into the super middleweight mix.

Local hero Max Suske (8-1) will take on Argentinian Leonel Eduardo Avila (9-3) in the headliner of P2-M's big show in Stralsund (March 16). At stake is the vacant WBC Youth title at super middleweight.

The show is still on for January 27th, but Croatian super middleweight Luka Plantic (7-0) has pulled out of the scheduled fight against Italian contender Ivan Zucco (18-0) so that main event is off.

French super middleweight Kevin Lele Sadjo (21-0, 19 inside the distance) got a good fight from late sub Abraham Gabriel Buonarrigo (12-5) last night in Marseille but upped the pace and stopped his opponent in the fourth. Sadjo, reigning EBU and WBO I-C champ looks ready for the big fights.

Former WBA world champ at super middleweight, Giovanni De Carolis (32-10-1), meets Brazilian Douglas Ataide (19-3-1) July 1 in Rome at an event put on by De Carolis Promotion.

Former WBA "regular" heavyweight champs Mahmoud "Manuel" Charr and Lucas Browne clash on December 17 in Dubai in an event promoted by Iconic Promotions Dubai.

Former world champions Robert Stieglitz and Dirk Dzemski joined forces and staged a pro-am show in Schoenebeck mainly with up and coming prospects. The most experienced pro was Patrick Rokohl (22-3) and he was in against one Felipe Da Silva (2-5-1) in what looked like a meaningless mismatch. However Da Silva hadn't read the script and knocked out Rokohl in the second round.

Swiss cruiserweight Benoit Huber (8-2) is the new opponent for Danish heavyweight Kem Ljungqvist (13-0) on September 16 in Nykobing Falster (Denmark). Huber steps in for South African Chris Thompson, who got injured in training.
