There have been several rumors on who Oleksandr Usyk will fight next.

The consensus 2018 Fighter of the Year by most publications went 3-0 last year, beating Mairis Briedis, Murat Gassiev, and Tony Bellew. The feat was more impressive with each victory coming on his opponent's home turf.

With the victories Usyk unified all 4 major titles to become the undisputed cruiserweight champion. He will likely move up to the heavyweight division in his next bout.

One of the names mentioned as a potential opponent is top heavyweight Luis Ortiz.  The hard hitting Cuban's manager Jay Jimenez squashed that rumor saying that he hasn't received a single phone call about that fight.

"No one has even called us," Jimenez told BoxingScene.com.  "I've noticed that everyone uses Luis' name as hype and then they disappear."

He said that right now the plan is for Oritz, who went 2-1 last year, to return to the ring in March. He did say that they would have no problem facing Usyk if an offer was made to face the Ukrainian.

"We would fight Usyk any day of the week. Personally, I think Usyk is really good but I think he could use a couple fights at heavyweight before stepping up," said Jimenez.
