WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder is still convinced that he without question scored a knockout victory over Tyson Fury, back in December 2018. Wilder dropped Fury in brutal fashion in the twelfth and final round. Fury appeared to be out cold as he laid motionless on the mat.

Stephen Espinoza expects the Deontay Wilder-Luis Ortiz rematch to be entertaining. Ultimately, however, Showtime’s president of sports and event programming decided distributing it would’ve required a financial commitment he wasn’t comfortable making. FOX Sports will distribute the second bout between Wilder and Ortiz, who was knocked out in the 10th round of their fight for Wilder’s WBC heavyweight title in March 2018.
The date has moved around a few times but it appears that the Deontay Wilder-Luis Ortiz rematch appears to have landed on November 23rd. Their first fight took place in March, 2018 with Wilder winning via 10th round knockout in an exciting thriller. Ortiz had Wilder nearly out on his feet in the 7th round but the American was able to recover and stop Ortiz 3 rounds later.
The few remaining minor details are being ironed out to finalize contracts for the Deontay Wilder-Luis Ortiz rematch. Multiple sources informed BoxingScene.com on Friday that those issues will be rectified soon and that an official announcement is imminent. Wilder-Ortiz II likely will be announced next week, which would afford everyone involved in this pay-per-view event more than two months to promote it. Wilder will defend his WBC heavyweight title versus Ortiz on November 23 at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, as BoxingScene.com previously reported. Showtime is expected to distribute the Wilder-Ortiz rematch as the main event of a four-fight telecast.
