Stevenson-Caraballo, Magdaleno-Vicente - Full Cards Announced

Robeisy Ramirez’s stunning defeat in his pro debut quickly knocked him off track for an eventual pro showdown with Shakur Stevenson. Bob Arum’s Top Rank Inc. signed Ramirez to a promotional contract in part to match him against Stevenson at some point because Ramirez beat Stevenson in the bantamweight gold-medal match at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. Cuba’s Ramirez, a two-time Olympic gold medalist, will attempt to continue rebuilding his reputation by winning his third straight professional fight on Stevenson’s undercard June 9 in Las Vegas.

Navarrete, Greer, Andrew Moloney To Headline Top Rank's ESPN Shows In June

Joshua Greer Jr. and Jason Moloney were supposed to meet in an important bantamweight bout April 25, but they’ve temporarily taken divergent paths. According to an ESPN.com story Saturday, those 118-pound contenders will face different opponents in upcoming bouts ESPN will televise beginning June 9 from MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Altogether, ESPN.com revealed six main events or co-features Saturday that weren’t previously reported by BoxingScene.com or other outlets.

Featherweight prospect Jose Enrique Durantes defeated veteran Jose Estrella by unanimous decision Sunday evening at the Club Events Center in San Bernardino, California. Durantes, who is originally from Texcoco, Mexico and now resides in the Los Angeles suburb of Montebello, was the quicker and more-effective fighter throughout most of the fight. Scores were 80-71, 80-71, and 79-72 for Durantes, who improves to 17-0, 9 knockouts.

Robert Garcia served as both trainer and promoter Friday night. Garcia and brother Mikey Garcia co-promoted their first fight card in Southern California and it will not be the last. In the main event, junior lightweight Luis Coria stopped veteran David Michel Paz in the third round at the Club Events Center in San Bernardino, California.

Junior lightweight Thomas Valdez won an eight-round split decision over prospect Luis Coria before a crowd over 4,000 at the Casino Del Sol in Tucson, Arizona. Coria, who is trained by Robert Garcia, took the fight on less than two weeks' notice after Jensen Ramirez pulled out of the fight. The 20-year-old Coria was effective during the first half of the fight, closing the distance and beating Valdez to the punch.

Luis Coria will square off against Thomas Valdez in an eight round bout tonight at the Casino Del Sol in Tucson, Arizona. Coria, a featherweight prospect, won a one-sided decision over veteran Guadalupe Arroyo on July 28 in Los Angeles. The Moreno Valley, California resident has won his last five fights in a row.
