WBA super flyweight champion Kohei Kono (28-7, 11KOs) has suffered an injury and advised the World Boxing Association that he will require additional time to satisfy his mandatory obligation against WBA interim-champion Liborio Solis (14-1, 3KOs). Kono won the title on December 31 with an upset fourth round knockout over Thai champion Tepparith Kokietgym. Solis has been the interim-champion since December 2011.
