Kiryl Relikh: record, next fight and profile →
According to the Scottish Daily Record, WBA junior welterweight champion Ricky Burns has a lot at stake in his upcoming mandatory defense against Kiryl Relikh in Glasgow. The fight is scheduled for October 7th.
The brass at Matchroom Boxing formally announced the details for Ricky Burns' first defense of his super welterweight title. The fighting pride of Glasgow, Scotland will return to the same venue where he nabbed the title - the SSE Hydro in his hometown - where he will face mandatory challenger Kiryl Relikh on Friday October 7, live on Sky Sports. The announcement confirms a previous news break by BoxingScene's Elliot Foster on Thursday.
Ricky Burns will return to the ring in the autumn. The WBA super-lightweight champion (40-5-1, 14 KOs), who knocked out Italy’s Michele Di Rocco for the vacant title in May, will make the first defence of his belt in his next outing.
The World Championships Committee of the World Boxing Association (WBA) have ordered negotiations for a mandatory fight between Ricky Burns (40-5-1, 14KOs), who recently captured the WBA junior welterweight championship, and hard hitting Belarussian challenger Kirill Relikh (21-0, 19KO) - ranked at number one at 140 pounds.
WBA/IBF #10 rated light welterweight Kirill Relikh came back in action yesterday at Gymnase du Lycee Technique de Monaco, Principauté de Monaco, Monaco. Relikh was the headliner of a tiny card, organized co-jointly by a former superstar of the very same weight class in Ricky Hatton and Philippe Fondu of the World Sport Promotions.
