British star Amir Khan is not looking ahead to a fight with WBC/WBA welterweight champion Floyd Mayweather Jr.

Khan has been chasing the match since 2013 and it appears that he may get passed over for yet another time.

Mayweather is set to return on September 12th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Following Mayweather's big decision win over Manny Pacquiao on May 2nd, Khan was pegged as the frontrunner for the September date.

But in recent weeks strong rumors have surfaced that Mayweather will instead face former welterweight champion Andre Berto, in a non-pay-per-view defense, on CBS. It would be Mayweather's first fight on a non-pay-per-view platform in ten years.

Both Khan and Berto are trained by Virgil Hunter and advised by Al Haymon.

"My gut feeling is he's avoiding me, doesn't want to fight me, and he wants to go and take an easy fight and fight someone like Berto. Plan B at the moment, its only been a month since my last fight. I'll sit down with Al Haymon. And Al advises Mayweather and he has no idea what he's doing. We'll sit down with Al and my team, there are some good fights for me out there. First we'll see what Mayweather wants to do and go from there," Khan told The Telegraph.
