British star Amir Khan (29-3, 19KOs) believes WBC/WBA welterweight/junior middleweight champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. (47-0, 26KOs) is avoiding any opponents who have speed and the ability to deliver accurate punches.

Khan and Pacquiao were once stablemates, when they were both being trained by Freddie Roach at the Wild Card Gym in Los Angeles. Two years ago, Khan jumped over to trainer Virgil Hunter.

Mayweather plans to return in May. Khan feels confident that he has the inside track, because he recently signed a contract with adviser Al Haymon, who also works with Mayweather.

"I feel he should think about fighting someone quick and explosive, someone who has a higher workrate than him and someone who is very accurate. That's what me and Pacquiao bring to the table. Even though I'm not with Freddie Roach, he still says things.....that I can beat Mayweather. If the fight between Pacquiao and Mayweather can't be made because of promotional deals, Amir Khan and Mayweather can get made because we're both signed with Al Haymon," Khan said.

Khan is looking for a ring return in December. If successful, he wants Mayweather in May. And he broke down his mindset, and strategy, for Mayweather.

"You have to fight him at his own game...speed, explosiveness, power and accuracy. Don't make any mistakes, be slick and go back to the basics. When you try to hard you make mistakes. You have to stay calm and think in every round," Khan said.
