Kevin Lerena could become the next legit contender in the heavyweight division. Promoter Rodney Berman is convinced his skill-set is made for success.

Former IBO cruiserweight champion, Kevin “Two Guns” Lerena, will be making his heavyweight debut against the 20-3 Romanian, Bogdan Dinu, at Emperor’s Palace on the 26th of February.

Kevin Lerena makes bold move to heavyweight division. The speculation started when Lerena’s name appeared at number 25 on Boxrec’s heavyweight world ratings. Technically, his last fight was as a heavyweight since it took place at a catchweight above the cruiserweight limit.

IBO cruiserweight champ Kevin Lerena has suffered a hand injury while sparring in his training camp in Namibia and the fight against WBA king Ryad Merhy, set for July 17 in Brussels, is now off.

The fight between WBA "regular" cruiserweight champ Ryad Merhy (29-1) and IBO king Kevin Lerena (26-1) will go ahead at the Stade Roi Baudouin in Brussels on July 17. One third of the big stadium will be used with 5,000 spectators allowed with RTL and Vrt televising the event.

WBA cruiserweight king Ryad Merhy (29-1) and his IBO counterpart Kevin Lerena (26-1) will clash on July 17 in Brussels, Belgium. Details on the venue, and if there can be an audience on hand will be announced in the near future.

Boxing’s newest weight division now has its first official title fight of sorts on the books. Fresh off of a recent rust-shaking win earlier this month, Kevin Lerena will now dip his toe into the shallow waters of the World Boxing Council (WBC) Bridgerweight division. The top-rated cruiserweight from Johannesburg, South Africa will next face Belgium’s Bilal Laggoune for WBC "Silver" Bridgerweight title, to take place March 13 at the famed Emperors Palace in Kempton Park, South Africa.

Cruiserweight contender Kevin Lerena battered Patrick Ferguson before the fight was stopped in round 5 Saturday night at Emperors Palace in Kempton Park, South Africa. With the victory, Lerena improves to 26-1-1, 13 knockouts.

As much as being a jockey was in his blood, Kevin Lerena is glad he pursued a career in boxing. The cruiserweight contender is eager to challenge for a world title belt in 2021, but will in action in a stay-busy fight against Patrick Ferguson Saturday night. The 10-round bout will take place at Emperors Palace in Kempton Park, South Africa.

DiBella Entertainment has teamed up with Rodney Berman’s Golden Gloves South Africa to co-promote explosive South African cruiserweight southpaw Kevin “Two Guns” Lerena (25-1, 12 KOs). In his first fight under their strategic alliance, Lerena will headline December Detonation, on Saturday, December 19, from Emperors Palace in Kempton Park, Gauteng, South Africa.
