Former IBO cruiserweight champion Kevin Lerena is not intimidated by the record of his upcoming opponent, Senad Gashi, who has 26 knockouts in his 27 wins.

Just before the deadline at noon today (Sep 12) the EBU published the news that its super lightweight champ Franck Petitjean (24-6-3) will make a voluntary defense of the title against Adam Azim (9-0) on November 18 in Wolverhampton (UK) on a show put on by Boxxer.

Skills Challenge Entertainment have not confirmed it yet but it appears to be a fact that WBC Bridgerweight champion Lukasz Rozanski (15-0) will defend the title against WBC cruiserweight king Badou Jack (28-3-3) late fall in Saudi Arabia.

Lukasz Rozanski will have to cut short his victory lap following an explosive win to secure the WBC bridgerweight title. BoxingScene.com has confirmed that the WBC has instructed Rozanski to enter talks with South Africa’s Kevin Lerena for an ordered mandatory title defense. The two sides were granted a free negotiations period to reach terms before a purse bid will be ordered by the sanctioning body.

Kevin Lerena is now aiming for the full WBC bridgerweight title, after winning a tough decision over Ryad Merhy last month at Emperors Palace. Dangerous puncher Lukasz Rozanski captured the vacant WBC title in April, with a first round destruction of Alen Babic.

At the Emperors Palace in Kempton Park, South Africa, Kevin Lerena (29-2, 14 KOs) picked up a hard-fought twelve round unanimous decision over Ryad Merhy (31-2, 26 KOs) of Belgium to win the WBC bridgerweight silver title.

Heavyweight contender Kevin Lerena is planning to take additional time off before returning to the ring. Lerena (28-2, 14 KOs) had initially planned to fight in the month of March. But now he might stay out until a date in April.

Belgian bridgerweight and former WBA cruiserweight champion Ryad Merhy (31-1) reports on Facebook that he will fight former IBO cruiserweight ruler Kevin Lerena (28-2) in a WBC eliminator in Johannesburg on March 18.

WBA "regular" heavyweight champion Daniel Dubois is going to be on the shelf for several months after suffering a leg injury during his most recent fight.

Shane McGuigan, head trainer for heavyweight Daniel Dubois, believes the boxer's recent performance may motivate other boxers in the weight class to fight him.
