Erickson “The Hammer” Lubin (24-2) will return to the ring on June 24th against Luis “Cuba” Arias (20-3-1) at The Armory in Minneapolis.  The bout will be part of Showtime telecast headlined by Carlos Adames versus Julian Williams.

This will be Lubin’s first fight since his April 2022 stoppage loss against Sebastian Fundora. Both fighters hit the canvas in the showdown that was one of the most action packed of the year.

The loss snapped Lubin’s six fight win streak. Lubin’s long time trainer Kevin Cunningham expects his charge to start a new winning streak and get back in position for another shot at a world title.

“Hammer’s on a mission to make a statement on June 24th. We’re having a good camp and Hammer is looking strong and explosive. I know Cuba’s training his ass off for this fight. I think this will be a fan friendly fight for as long as it lasts but I seriously doubt it goes the distance. It will be Hammer time in Minnesota!” Cunningham told BoxingScene.com.

Lubin’s only other professional loss occurred in 2017 when he was caught cold in the first round of his bout against long time champion Jermell Charlo.

Arias is coming off of a May victory over Jimmy Williams. In previous bout, he suffered an upset loss against the always upset minded Vaughn Alexander.
