BoxingScene.com has been advised that Mikkel Kessler (44-2, 33KOs) has withdrawn from his scheduled fight on April 14th with WBO super middleweight champion Robert Stieglitz (41-2, 23KOs). Kessler's right hand has not fully healed in time to make the April date.

The new date being discussed is May 19th, at PARKEN Stadium in Copenhagen, Denmark - but at this point Kessler is likely going to face another opponent and several names are being kicked around - including WBA interim-champion Brian Magee (36-4-1, 25 KOs).

The fight was orginally scheduled to take place on November 5th, but Kessler injured his right hand in training. Stieglitz returned in January in Offenburg and retained his title with a lopsided twelve round decision against Henry Weber. Kessler has been out of the ring since last June's TKO win over Mehdi Bouadla.
