Kenia Enriquez is making a claim for a world title belt.

She is also making a case for being one of the best Female fighters in the sport.

Enriquez remained unbeaten this past Saturday, defeating Maria Salinas by decision over 10 one-sided rounds at the Deportivo Revolucion in San Nicolás de los Garzas, Mexico. All three judges scored the bout 100-90 for Enriquez, who improved to 28-1, 11 knockouts.

The 29-year-old Enriquez retained her WBC interim world flyweight title belt.

Both fighters were on the attack from the opening bell. Enriquez was the more-effective fighter, but Salinas was able to find more success during the third round.

The body punches Enriquez threw and landed began to take their toll during the middle rounds. Undaunted, Salinas rallied during the seventh and eighth rounds, likely from a second wind, connecting with combinations. The more-polished Enriquez still landed the more-telling punches during these exchanges, including the final two rounds.

Saturday’s clash was a rematch from May 2017, which Enriquez won by knockout.

In her previous fight on September 10, Enriquez defeated Ibeth Zamora Silva by unanimous decision.

Enriquez, who resides in Tijuana, Mexico, is still the mandatory challenger to face WBC world titleholder Marlen Esparza.

Salinas defeated Maria Martinez Sandoval by unanimous decision in her last bout on September 16, which took place in her hometown of Saltillo, Mexico.

The 34-year-old has fought for a world title belt on four occasions in a career that has spanned almost 16 years, compiling a record of 0-2-2 in those fights.

Also taking place on the TM Boxing card, in a clash of unbeaten junior welterweights who reside in Mexico, Gonzalo Fuentes Hernandez defeated Luis Ruiz Angeles (3-1, 1 KO) by unanimous decision. Scores were 38-37, 38-37, and 39-36 for Hernandez, who improved to 5-0, 3 KOs.
