IBF welterweight champion Kell Brook believes he finally has domestic rival Amir Khan right where he wants him. 

Promoter Eddie Hearn of Matchroom is negotiating to where Brook will then face Khan (31-3, 19 KOs) at Wembley Stadium on June 4. Hearn has the venue placed on hold.

Brook was due to return in October in a voluntary defense against Diego Chaves, but he was forced to withdraw after suffering a rib injury during a sparring session.

Khan only saw action once in 2015, when he decisioned Chris Algieri in May. He wasted a lot of time hoping to land a Floyd Mayweather Jr. fight in September. Mayweather selected Andre Berto instead. Khan then held out hope to fight Manny Pacquiao in April, but WBO welterweight champion Tim Bradley was selected as the opponent.

Hearn is in talks with Khan's team, but Brook is not getting overly excited. Khan was recently guaranteed a title shot by the WBC. Danny Garcia and Robert Guerrero battle next Saturday for the vacant WBC world title. The winner has to make a mandatory defense against Khan.

"You know that the fight everyone wants is against Khan, or the likes of Tim Bradley, Keith Thurman and Danny Garcia. These are the type of fighters I want to fight. I've not been in good company opponents-wise and I want to jump on them this year," Brook told Nick Parkinson.

"Khan has got nowhere else to go. He was waiting and waiting for Floyd Mayweather, didn't get it, then he waited for Pacquiao, and never got it. The fight against me is there to be made, it's the biggest fight out there for him, and he's got nowhere to hide now.

"The biggest fight out there for the fans is for me and Khan to fight each other. [Promoter] Eddie Hearn has said it looks good but I've heard it before and until a contract is signed I won't get excited about it. I've heard Jun. 4 but I've got to take care of Bizier first. I'm hearing very positive things about matching me and Khan and it will be massive."
