Kell Brook believes his long-time rival, Amir Khan, is making every excuse possible to avoid fighting him.

The two boxers have been trading words for several years.

A showdown appeared to get closer earlier this year, when Khan signed a multi-fight promotional deal with Eddie Hearn, who also works with Brook.

In his second fight of the year, Khan is back in action on Saturday night in Birmingham, when he faces Samuel Vargas.

Brook moved up to the junior middleweight limit earlier this year, and blew away Sergey Rabchenko in two rounds.

Brook, despite his weight struggles, is willing to drop down to the welterweight to make the fight.

“He’s a little bitch to be honest with you, he is. He’s tried every excuse in the book to not make the fight. It’s gonna kill me to make 147-pounds, but I’m willing to get down and make that fight. There’s nowhere else for him to hide in my opinion… What other excuses can he come out with?," Brook told TalkSport Drivetime,

Should Khan win in style, as expected, he is planning to fight again before the year is over.

Khan recently admitted that he prefers to face Manny Pacquiao next - and looks to Brook for next spring.

But Brook wants that fight as soon as possible.

“I’m going to the fight,” Brook  “I think we’re running out of time now, I think this is more or less his last chance to get it on with me.

“I’d love to take the fight at the end of this year. That’s what the world wants to see, Brook vs. Khan. I actually went in the ring for his last fight and he ran out of the ring when I got in. All I want to do is make this fight happen for all the fans.”
