One of the most highly regarded prospects in all of boxing is 2016 U.S. Olympian Karlos Balderas (5-0, 4 KO's), who faces Giovanni Caro on Saturday night at the Staples Center in Los Angeles as part of the undercard that takes place before Mikey Garcia and Robert Easter cap things off in their lightweight unification clash on Showtime.

Balderas was signed out of the amateurs by Ringstar Sports, and Richard Schaefer says that soon he will be showcased in his hometown of Santa Maria, California.

There were plans to have a card at the local high school he attended but Schaefer explained to BoxingScene.com,"Unfortunately we were told that you need to go through a whole lot of requirements and it needs to be approved and it takes about a year to get approval. So I'm actually looking now, because I really want to have Karlos up there because I think he can sell 10-15,000 tickets.

"So I definitely want to do that ad we are exploring other options because that's one of my main goals. It's too bad we just cant do it from the high school, it's such a lengthy process. We'll have to see if there's any way to short circuit that to put both brothers on there."

Brother Jose Balderas (3-0) is also on the card at the Staples Center.

"There is the Chumash Casino, as well, which is about a half-hour away from Santa Maria but the room there isn't very big. I think tickets wouldn't even go on sale - that's how big of a star Karlos is up there," Schaefer stated.

"So we'll have conversations with them, as well, because the Chumash Casino would love to have Karlos up there."
