Junaid Bostan: record, next fight and profile →

Jesse ‘Bam’ Rodriguez kept everyone waiting for Friday’s weigh-in, though already after he made weight. The two-division and reigning WBO flyweight titleholder ran late for what was later revealed as the ceremonial weigh-in ahead of his unification bout versus IBF champ Sunny Edwards. Rodriguez tipped the scales at a fit 111.6 pounds, while Edwards was 111.6 pounds.

Junaid Bostan didn’t spend his teenage years flicking through the MTV channels or watching Hollyoaks. The unbeaten junior middleweight has been a boxing addict since he was in primary school. When he wasn’t in the gym, Bostan would be at home rewatching old episodes of HBO’s 24/7. He has a favourite series.

Murodjon Akhmadaliev will face Kevin Gonzalez in an eliminator for the WBA World Super-Bantamweight title as the chief support bout to the Flyweight unification blockbuster between Jesse Rodriguez and Sunny Edwards at the Desert Diamond Arena in Glendale, Arizona on Saturday December 16, live worldwide on DAZN – with Edwards being joined by four fellow British talents on the card.

Junaid Bostan will fight in America before the end of the year. The 21-year-old has raced to 7-0 since turning professional just last March and he will be rewarded for a scintillating start in the paid ranks.

Hopey Price (12-0, 5 KO’s) came through the toughest test of his career, stopping a game Conor Coghill (14-1, 1 KO) in the twelfth and final round of their featherweight fight.

HOPEY PRICE punctuated his featherweight debut with a seventh-round stoppage of former British and Commonwealth title challenger James Beech Jr.

Dalton Smith remained a model of consistency at the scales. The unbeaten 26-year-old prospect was a fighting fit 139.4 pounds, within the tight weight range for his last eight fights and ahead of his hometown headliner. Sam Maxwell was also 139.4 pounds for their regional title fight Saturday on DAZN from Utilita Arena in Smith’s hometown of Sheffield, England.

Junaid Bostan will looking to make it six knockouts from six fights when he steps up against Midlands Area Champion Ryan Amos over eight rounds on the undercard of Dalton Smith's British and Commonwealth Super-Lightweight Titles clash with Sam Maxwell this Saturday July 1 at the Utilita Arena Sheffield, shown live worldwide on DAZN (excluding Australia and New Zealand).
