Former four division world champion Juan Manuel Marquez (55-7-1, 40KOs), 40-years-old, is considering the possibility of fighting on a date in May in Mexico City. Marquez is discussing the possibility with promoter Fernando Beltran of Zanfer Promotions. Marquez hopes to get a shot at the WBO welterweight title by the end of the year. The belt is up for grabs on April 12th, when champion Timothy Bradley defends the title against Manny Pacquiao in a rematch.
"I have to see what's on the table, what they offer me. I have to analyze what suits me and what doesn't and then I will make a decision. I need to sit down with the promoter and see what's coming, and if it's very good then I would be returning in May," Marquez said.
