Juan Heraldez: record, next fight and profile →
SAN ANTONIO – An OK fighter. That was Regis Prograis’ less-than-complimentary assessment of Juan Heraldez, his opponent Saturday night. Prograis stopped short during a press conference Wednesday of completely marginalizing Heraldez because the former WBA super light champion didn’t “wanna sh-t on him.”
With just a quick glance at Regis Prograis' resume, it would appear that his career has already come full circle. He made his way up the ranks by beating some quality opponents, entered into an elite tournament, won a world title and lost the title while engaging in a double title-unification fight in the process. But Prograis is far from done.

SAN ANTONIO – Gervonta Davis looked relaxed before he stepped on the scale Friday afternoon. Davis and his entire team still collectively breathed a sigh of relief when it read 129.8 pounds. After months of speculation regarding Davis’ ability to make weight, the unbeaten Baltimore native officially came in slightly under the contracted maximum of 130 pounds for his 12-round fight against Leo Santa Cruz on Saturday night at Alamodome.
SAN ANTONIO – This fight week has been stressful for Regis Prograis for more than the regular reasons. The former WBA super lightweight champion’s wife is due with their third child Friday, the day before Prograis is scheduled to face Juan Heraldez at Alamodome. Unless Raquel Prograis’ pregnancy extends until Sunday, Regis Prograis will miss the birth of his second daughter.

It will have been more than a year since his last fight by the time Regis Prograis makes his way back to the ring. That means 371 days of having to sit on the lone loss of his career, one with which he still hasn’t come to grips.
