Alen Babic will be back in the ring sooner rather than later after producing a career-best performance.

The 29-year-old Croatian stopped Shawndell Winters on the final show of Eddie Hearn and Matchroom Boxing’s Fight Camp series.

Babic, who weighed in under the cruiserweight limit for his heavyweight clash against the former Joseph Parker opponent at Matchroom’s Mascalls headquarters in Brentwood, Essex, dropped Winters in the opening round and then again in the second round to ensure that he moved to 4-0 with all of his wins coming inside the distance.

And the Dillian Whyte-managed fighter –– who saw his mentor knocked out by Alexander Povetkin atop the bill last weekend –– looks set to return next month.

Eddie Hearn is doing a show in September –– on a date to be confirmed at a venue to be nailed on –– with former British and current WBA International light-heavyweight champion Joshua Buatsi set to headline.

Babic will be among those on the undercard of that show, it seems, with Hearn saying that Buatsi’s opponent is being finalised for it.

“We still don't know how good 'The Savage' is,” he said. “We know he's a right f--king handful and a complete lunatic, but what happens after four or five rounds?”

Further undercard additions and official confirmation of the card will be revealed in due course.
