Josh Taylor: record, next fight and profile →
Josh Taylor has warned Regis Prograis against turning their highly-anticipated World Boxing Super Series Ali Trophy Final into a "dog fight" and insists that he possesses the power to knock his opponent "spark out" should the chance present itself.
It’s rather simple, according to Regis Prograis. He’ll be able to take Josh Taylor’s power Saturday night, but Taylor won’t withstand his hardest shots. Prograis expects to exploit what he considers Taylor’s defensive deficiencies and is confident he can stop the unbeaten Scottish southpaw in their World Boxing Super Series 140-pound final at O2 Arena in London.
Josh Taylor was able to watch his opponent sweat out the scale results this time around. The World Boxing Super Series finale between Scotland's Taylor and New Orleans' Regis Prograis charges full steam ahead after both successfully made weight for their 140-pound title unification bout, which airs live Saturday evening on DAZN in the United States and Sky Sports Box Office in the United Kingdom from The O2 in London, England.

Eddie Hearn’s company isn’t the promoter of record for Regis Prograis or Josh Taylor. The British promoter still can’t wait to sit ringside Saturday night to watch Prograis and Taylor square off in the World Boxing Super Series’ 140-pound final. Their 12-round fight figures to be a highly competitive battle between unbeaten southpaws who haven’t lost as professionals.
Josh Taylor is not a man to live in the past and right now, becoming a world champion is simply history. The Scot claimed the IBF super-lightweight title with a hard-fought points win over Ivan Baranchyk in Glasgow in May, but he doesn’t even have his belt out at home, he keeps it under the stairs, next to the Hoover.
There have been times in recent years when British boxing fans weren’t necessarily satisfied with the overall quality of Matchroom Boxing cards in the United Kingdom. Eddie Hearn is beyond confident they’ll get plenty of bang for their collective buck Saturday night at O2 Arena in London. Hearn, Matchroom’s managing director, went as far as to state that the show headlined by the Regis Prograis-Josh Taylor 140-pound title unification fight is the most stacked card his company has ever promoted.

Regis Prograis is certain he is capable of knocking out Josh Taylor. Even if Taylor withstands his power, Prograis is confident he can win a decision against the Scottish southpaw in what essentially is a fight in Taylor’s backyard. O2 Arena in London is the venue for their 140-pound title unification fight Saturday night.
