Joseph Diaz Jr. will face Oscar Duarte in a lightweight crossroads fight on the undercard of a Jose Ramirez-headlined show at the Save Mart Center in Fresno, California, on April 27.

The 10-round lightweight bout between former world titleholder Diaz (33-5-1, 15 KOs) and Duarte (26-2-1, 21 KOs) from Parral, Mexico, had been rumored for at least a month before being announced by Golden Boy Promotions. Diaz briefly made the news public on his X social media account before apparently removing the post.

Diaz is coming off a disappointing split-decision loss to Jesus “Ricky” Perez, while Duarte was knocked out by Ryan Garcia last December.

Also on the Golden Boy card will be a bout between unified flyweight world champion Marlen Esparza (14-1, 1 KO) and former titleholder Gabriela “La Chucky” Alaniz (14-1, 6 KOs) of Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Opening the DAZN broadcast will be welterweight Raul “El Cugar” Curiel (14-0, 12 KOs) against Jorge Marron Jr. (20-4-2, 7 KOs).

On the preliminary card, highly regarded Jennah “The Gem” Creason of Visalia, California, will make her debut in a four-round welterweight fight. Additionally, local favorite Bryan Lua (8-0, 3 KOs) of Madera, California, will compete in a six-round lightweight bout.
