Thus far two-time Mexican Olympian Joselito Velasquez has shined brightly in his brief professional career. The plan is for this flyweight prospect to stay as active as possible in 2017.

"I've scheduled for him to fight on July 15th in Cancun (Mexico)," explained his manager, Frank Espinoza, who added - "We've been really happy with his early progress and how he's looked early on. He already performs like a seasoned pro in that ring."

Back on December 17th Velasquez made his pro debut by stopping Eduardo Casimiro in one round. On March 10th he scored a third round stoppage of Diego Guerrero. It's clear that Velasquez already has a professional style and just as importantly, looks to be an fan-friendly fighter.

Espinoza, who manages the likes of WBO featherweight titlist, Oscar Valdez, and WBO super bantamweight belt-holder, Jessie Magdanelo.  believes he has another future world champion on his hands.

"Joselito is the goods, I firmly believe that. I know it's still very early in the process but I know what we have on our hands. He works extremely hard, loves the sport and has a great passion for fighting. It's going to be my job to make sure he gets all the opportunities to develop his skills."
