Jose Ramirez Drops, Stops Tomas Mendez in Four Rounds

By Carlos Boogs

Tachi Palace Hotel & Casino in Leemore, California - 2012 Olympian Jose Ramirez (18-0, 13 KOs) stopped Tomas Mendez (22-8, 14 KOs) in four rounds to retain the WBC Continental Americas title.

The fight appeared to be a wipeout after Mendez went down three times in round one. A big left sent Mendez down the first time, and then a big combination of shots put him down again. Mendez was trying to survive when a shot to the body sent him down for a third time. Ramirez was unable to finish him off, but beat him up round after round until the referee finally waved off the fight in the fourth.

Super featherweight prospect Andy Vences, (16-0, 10 KOs), won an eight round unanimous decision over Moises Delgadillo, (17-15-2, 8 KOs). The scores were 77-75, 78-74, and 79-73.

Lightweight Eric Altamirano, (8-0, 6 KOs) stopped Daniel Tran, (4-5-1, 2 KOs) in the sixth round.

Featherweight Efren Lopez, (1-0, 1 KO) blew away Barry Dudley, (0-3) in the first round.

Super lightweight Ector Madera, (1-0, 0 KOs) won a four round unanimous decision over Kevin Davila, (1-3-2, 0 KOs). All three judges saw it 40-36.

Another pathetic Top Skank Pageantry show with the outcomes already guaranteed and set in stone. Take the damn training wheels of these so called prospects. But it was nice seeing one of the blatant setups on the undercard backfire.
