Jose Pedraza: record, next fight and profile →
Former lightweight world champion Jose "Sniper" Pedraza will make his 140-pound debut on September 21 on a Top Rannk card that would take place in Stockton, California. Top Rank has yet to finalize an opponent, but Pedraza is slated to face a veteran fighter with experience at the junior welterweight limit.
Two of DiBella Entertainment's rising stars, world ranked lightweight "Ferocious" George Kambosos Jr. and 2016 U.S. Olympian junior middleweight Charles "Bad News" Conwell continued their ascent over the weekend with outstanding performances.
Jose Pedraza knew by the time he stepped into the ring for his Jan. 2017 title defense versus Gervonta Davis that he’d overstayed his welcome in the 130-pound division. The former two-division titlist doesn’t plan to allow for history to repeat itself.
KISSIMMEE, Fla.—However they mean it when referring to him as a slick boxer, Jose Pedraza always accepts the term as a glowing compliment—to the point where he expects to go the distance every time he steps into the ring.
KISSIMMEE, Fla.—There wasn’t anything about Saturday’s fight with Antonio Lozada which surprised Jose Pedraza. Not even how close the scores were at the time he ultimately closed the show. The former two-division titlist returned to the win column with a 9th round knockout of Mexico’s Lozada in front of a beyond capacity crowd of 2,912 at Osceola Heritage Park in Kissimmee, Fla. Pedraza floored his foe with a laser-sharp left hand in round nine before an ensuing flurry prompted a stoppage late in the round.

As it relates to always in-shape super featherweights Masayuki Ito and Jamel Herring, making weight was a mere formality. Through their relentless training regiments came a weigh-in free of drama as both boxers are set for their super featherweight title fight Saturday evening. Ito checked in at a fighting fit pounds in defense of his title. The always-chiseled Herring—a decorated U.S. Marine who served two tours in Iraq and was captain of the 2012 U.S. Olympic boxing team—showed up at a career-lightest 129.6 pounds.
Baja California native Antonio Lozada Jr. has let it be known that he's in the best shape of his career to once again upset the odds, once again, this Saturday night in Florida. He will face Puerto Rico's Jose Pedraza as part of a Top Rank card.
