At Arena Mexico in Mexico City, a war of wills was won by former champion Jorge Arce (50-4, 38KOs) as he stopped Rafael Concepcion (11-3-1, 7KOs) after nine-rounds of warfare to win the interim-WBA super flyweight title.

After a quick start by Arce, Concepcion battled back in the early rounds, stunning Arce more than once with hard combinations. Arce gave Concepcion the war he wanted, taking the fight right back at him, sending the crowd into a frenzy.

By the eight-round, Concepcion was starting to slow down. Arce starting to punish him in the eight and continued the damage in the ninth. Concepcion was unable to come out for the tenth-round.
