At Restaurante Arroyo in Mexico City, Mexico, Jorge Arce (53-6, 40KOs) won a seven round technical decision over Angky Angkota (23-5, 14KOs) of Indonesia to capture the vacant WBO super flyweight title.

The first three rounds was an inside war with Arce pinning Angkota in a corner and pounding away with both hands. He was digging hard hooks to Angkota's body and then following with hooks to the head. Angkota was being smothered in the fourth round. Arce was pounding away to the head and body. Angkota's defense was very weak. He couldn't find an answer to get away. Arce continued to outwork Angkota in the fifth and sixth but Angkota was starting to do better.

During the seventh, there appeared to be a clash of heads that opened up a decent sized cut above the left eye of Angkota. The doctor took a look a the cut and advised the ref to stop the fight. The fight went to the scorecards and they read 58-56, 60-54 and 60-54.
