Jono Carroll is likely to make his return to the ring next month in Mexico.

The Dublin super-featherweight valiantly challenged IBF champion Tevin Farmer for his world title back in March, losing an unanimous decision in Philadelphia.

Carroll (16-1-1, 3 KOs) will be back sooner rather than later, though, after promoter Eddie Hearn stated that he will probably box again on August 24 at the Centro de Usos Multiples.

Were it to be confirmed, the fight would come as part of the supporting cast to Juan Francisco Estrada’s WBC super=flyweight title defence against Dewayne Beamon in Hermosillo, Sonora.

Filip Hrgovic, the Croatian heavyweight who is undefeated in eight contests since turning professional, will feature on the card when he defends his WBC International title against Mario Heredia, while there is also set to be action for Diego Pacheco, Alexis Espino and the talented Brooklyn-based Uzbek Shakhram Giyasov.
