An injury has forced Callum Smith out of his Light-Heavyweight clash with Pawel Stepien at the M&S Bank Arena Liverpool on Saturday March 11.

On March 11, The WBC’s No.1 ranked Light-Heavyweight contender Callum Smith (29-1, 21 KOs) returns home to face undefeated Pole Pawel Stepien (18-0-1, 12 KOs) at the M&S Bank Arena as he looks to secure a showdown with unified WBC, WBO and IBF ruler Artur Beterbiev later in the year.

Kiko Martinez became European champion for the fifth time and lined himself up another world title shot at the age of 36 as he dropped Jordan Gill four times on the way to a fourth-round stoppage at Wembley Arena.

It’s not a dream fight in Ireland, but Katie Taylor can embrace this weekend as a different kind of homecoming. The two-division champ and reigning undisputed lightweight queen is set for her fourteenth overall defense of at least one lightweight title as she faces Argentina’s Karen Elizabeth Carabajal. Both boxers made weight for their scheduled ten-round championship fight, which headlines a Matchroom Boxing-promoted DAZN show from OVO Arena Wembley in London.

Katie Taylor will defend her Undisputed Lightweight World title against Karen Elizabeth Carabajal at the OVO Arena Wembley in London on Saturday October 29, live worldwide on DAZN (excluding Australia and New Zealand).

Jordan Thompson clung on to his unbeaten record, although he looked a lucky man as he clambered off the canvas in the final seconds of his ten-rounder with Vasil Ducar to claim a unanimous decision on the Smith-O’Maison bill in Sheffield.

Dalton Smith will face Sam O’maison for the vacant British Super Lightweight Title at the Utilita Arena Sheffield on Saturday August 6, live worldwide on DAZN (excluding Australia and New Zealand).

Hamzah Sheeraz, the unbeaten middleweight, has been voted Young Boxer of the Year. The 22-year-old from Slough was voted for the award by members of the Boxing Writers’ Club. He joins a prestigious roll call of former award winners that includes the likes of Randolph Turpin, John H Stracey, John Conteh, Frank Bruno, Naseem Hamed, Joe Calzaghe, Ricky Hatton and Amir Khan.

Unbeaten middleweight Hamzah Sheeraz and super-bantamweight prospect Hopey Price feature on the shortlist for the prestigious Young Boxer of the Year award.

By Corey Erdman - If you were watching this past Saturday’s Matchroom Boxing offering on DAZN, you might have noticed something a little unusual. Although the crowd was engaged in the main event between Danny Jacobs and John Ryder, two top-level super middleweights, they were significantly more enthusiastic for the fight that directly preceded it.
