Heavyweights tend to be given more time and leeway than fighters in any other weight division. A big right hand can cover up a multitude of sins and a devastating finish will ensure that fans tune in to watch a fighter the next time they lace up the gloves regardless of what preceded it.

Eddie Hearn believes that 25-year-old heavyweight Johnny Fisher, 11-0 (10 KOs), is on target to challenge for the British title if he beats Alen Babic on July 6 at the Copper Box Arena in Hacney Wick, London.

Alen Babic believes he will be the underdog against 25-year-old Johnny Fisher when they collide on July 6 at London’s Copper Box Arena in a heavyweight 10-rounder. The declaration – drawn largely from the fact that huge ticket-seller Fisher will enjoy the support from the crowd – was merely lip service at today’s press conference, however.

Johnny Fisher, 11-0 (10 KOs), will return to action against Alen Babic, 12-1 (11 KOs) on July 6th. The heavyweights will be the main attraction of a DAZN NextGen show at the Copperbox Arena in London.

Promoter Eddie Hearn hopes his heavyweight prospect Johnny Fisher can get in the mix with Frazer Clarke and Fabio Wardley after their heroics at London’s O2 Arena on Saturday night.

Johnny Fisher continued the strong start to his professional career in predictably easy fashion Saturday. The unbeaten British heavyweight overwhelmed and stopped huge underdog Dmytro Bezus in the first round of their eight-round heavyweight fight on the Conor Benn-Peter Dobson undercard at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas. Fisher, of Romford, England, assaulted Ukraine’s Bezus with a barrage of power punches that caused referee Robert Hoyle to step between them and end their bout at 2:51 of the first round.

Peter Dobson didn’t say anything to Conor Benn after they made weight Friday afternoon in Las Vegas. After talking trash throughout the buildup toward their junior middleweight match, Dobson simply stared into Benn’s eyes as they faced off for the final time before their fight Saturday. Benn didn’t say anything, either, as he too looked with disdain at his upcoming opponent.
