Joey Spencer: record, next fight and profile →
Unbeaten rising prospect Joey Spencer will battle Ravshan Hudaynazarov in an eight-round middleweight attraction that highlights the non-televised undercard lineup on Saturday, March 26 in a Premier Boxing Champions event from The Armory in Minneapolis.
The final televised boxing card of the year in the United States returned favorable ratings and perhaps the start of a new tradition. A special Christmas evening edition of PBC Fight Night on Fox averaged 2,726,000 viewers, the best figure in the series’ six-year history on the free-to-air network. The four-fight telecast peaked at 5,904,000 viewers, coming just after the 8:00 pm ET start time following a special Saturday edition of NFL on FOX between the Cleveland Browns and Green Bay Packers which averaged a weekend-best 28,588,000 viewers.
Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey - Unbeaten prospect Joey Spencer (14-0, 10 KOs) delivered a fifth-round knockout over Limberth Ponce (18-5, 11 KOs), landing a clean right hook that ended their super welterweight contest.
NEWARK – Joey Spencer picked apart Limberth Ponce mostly with once punch at a time for four-plus rounds Saturday night. Finally, Spencer let his hands go in combination during the fifth round and got the knockout he sought in an eight-round middleweight match FOX televised from Prudential Center.

By Cliff Rold - For the millions of Americans celebrating the holiday, Christmas supper will likely be done. Desserts will be served or on their way. A healthy set of those millions of homes will know or soon know how a clash between the Green Bay Packers and Cleveland Browns wrapped up.

NEWARK, New Jersey – Joey Spencer needed rounds last Saturday night. The unbeaten junior middleweight prospect had logged less than five full rounds since January 2020 before he entered the ring to face James Martin in an eight-round fight FOX televised from Prudential Center. The 21-year-old Spencer also had surgery on his right hand four months ago, in which he had two pins inserted into it.
A combination of Olympic competition on NBC and three low-profile fights led to FOX’s lowest-rated boxing broadcast Saturday night since the network began paying for Premier Boxing Champions’ content late in 2018. Nielsen Media Research revealed Tuesday that the three-bout “FOX PBC Fight Night” telecast drew an average of 621,000 viewers. A peak audience of 696,000 tuned in toward the end of an upset in the main event – Jonnie Rice’s fifth-round, technical-knockout victory over heavily favored Michael Coffie at Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.
NEWARK, New Jersey – Joey Spencer wouldn’t allow James Martin to ruin his perfect record, too. Spencer got off to a strong start and fended off Martin’s minor rally in the middle rounds to win their eight-round junior middleweight match by unanimous decision Saturday night at Prudential Center.
