Eight years after he retired from the sport, former two division world champion Joe Calzaghe, 44 years old, is back in the boxing mix.

According to The Sun, Calzaghe has obtained a manager's license and he's already began working to build up a stable of fighters. The license request was approved by the British Boxing Board of Control and he is now registered in Cardiff as a boxing manager.

Cazlaghe has signed up 2016 Olympians Joe Cordina and Josh Kelly. The two amateurs recently signed promotional agreements with Eddie Hearn of Matchroom Sport.

Cordina, 25, is Welsh like Calzaghe, will make his pro debut this spring and is being trained by Tony Sims. He will compete at lightweight

Kelly, 22, from Sunderland, fought at welterweight in Rio and reached the last 16. He will be trained by Adam Booth, who previously trained David Haye and currently trains Billy Joe Saunders, Andy Lee, and several others.

Kelly is scheduled to make his pro debut on April 15 at the SSE Arena in Glasgow on the undercard of the junior welterweight unification between Ricky Burns and Julius Indongo.

Calzaghe retired from the sport in 2009 with his perfect record of 46-0 with 32 knockouts intact. His final two career fights, which took place in 2008, were both held in the United States. He won twelve round decisions over Bernard Hopkins and Roy Jones Jr. in his final career outings.

Calzaghe was promoted by Frank Warren for nearly his entire career. In his final outings, he broke away from Warren and began to self-manage and self-promote himself.

The "Pride of Wales' was inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame in 2014.
