Multiple sources have advised BoxingScene.com that a clash between former two-division champion Jessie Vargas (28-2) and former title challenger Thomas Dulorme (24-3) is nearly finalized for October 6th in Chicago.

The fight would air on the streaming app DAZN and would be part of their first card to take place on American soil. Heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua defends his WBA/WBO/IBF/IBO titles on September 22nd in the United Kingdom on DAZN's first foray in the boxing world.

Matchroom Boxing's Eddie Hearn recently signed an 8 year, 1 billion dollar deal with the streaming service and recently announced the signing of Vargas, Artur Beterbiev, Demetrius Andrade, Jarrell Miller and other American based fighters.

The October 6th card is also expected to include Beterbiev's IBF light heavyweight title defense against Callum Johnson and Miller against a fighter still to be determined.

Vargas last fought in April when he battled Adrien Broner to a majority draw.  Dulorme has been active since last August when he lost a razor thin decision to Yordenis Ugas in a fight that the Puerto Rican was deducted two points for low blows.

With yesterday's announcement of the return of Conor McGregor to the octagon against unbeaten champion Khabib Nurmagomedov it is unknown if Matchroom and DAZN will move the date of their fight card to not compete with what will surely be the biggest UFC pay-per-view card of the year.
