It looks like both Jessie and Diego Magdaleno will return to the ring in the first quarter of 2019.

Last week BoxingScene.com first reported that Diego would face rising lightweight prospect Teofimo Lopez in Frisco, Texas in a bout that will be streamed on the ESPN+ app. The card will be headlined by the Eleider Alvarez-Sergey Kovalev rematch for the WBO light heavyweight title.

Diego has also confirmed that a fight for his younger brother against former title challenger Christopher Diaz (24-1) is also in the works for a Top Rank card on March 17th in New York.

The fight would be on an ESPN card that will be headlined by Michael Conlan against an opponent to be determined.

Jessie (25-1) has been out of the ring since he lost his WBO super bantamweight title in April to Isaac Dogboe in a 2018 Fight of they Year candidate while Diaz returned to action earlier this month with a quick knockout victory over David Berna in Puerto Rico. Diaz came up short against Masayuki Ito in July in a fight for the vacant WBO super featherweight title.

Diaz will be moving down to featherweight for the bout while Jessie, who has struggled to make 122 pounds in his recent fights, will move up 4 pounds.
