Jazza Dickens: record, next fight and profile →
Jazza Dickens says he always knew he would cross paths with Kid Galahad again ahead of their IBF featherweight title fight next month. The two men will meet for the vacant belt at Matchroom Fight Camp on August 7, on week two of a three-week fight series that is broadcast live on DAZN.

Kid Galahad and James ‘Jazza’ Dickens finally have a home for their title fight. The long-ago ordered featherweight clash will land atop the August 7 edition of Matchroom Fight Camp, airing live on DAZN from Matchroom Boxing headquarters in Brentwood, Essex. The vacant IBF featherweight title fight will be at stake for the bout, which was stuck in a holding pattern since the purse bid hearing held earlier this year.
Kid Galahad said he offered to face Josh Warrington at four weeks’ notice after Warrington’s fight with Can Xu fell through, but was told Warrington would rather give up his IBF featherweight title than face him.
For the second time in less than a month, Kid Galahad has been the subject of a title fight whose promotional rights were obtained through a purse bid hearing. The hope this time around is for the fight to actually materialize. Lee Eaton—representing MTK Global—will serve as the promoter of record for the ordered vacant IBF featherweight title fight between Galahad (real name Barry Awad) and James ‘Jazza’ Dickens. Obtained the rights to the fight following a $202,500 offer posted during a purse bid hearing held virtually in lieu of an in-person meeting due to COVID restrictions.
Jazza Dickens feels his activity over the last few years give him a huge advantage over Kid Galahad ahead of the potential world title showdown between the duo. The IBF has ordered Dickens and Galahad to enter negotiations for a fight for the vacant IBF featherweight title, after former champion Josh Warrington opted to vacate the belt.
Kid Galahad has moved from one title fight rematch to another. That’s if James ‘Jazza’ Dickens decides to accept the fight or move in another direction. A vacant title fight has been ordered by the International Boxing Federation (IBF) between Galahad and Dickens, its top two contenders in the wake of Josh Warrington abandoning the title on Jan. 21. Talks were ordered between camps although a purse bid hearing has already been scheduled to take place on Feb. 4.

Jazza Dickens feel the extra two months of training has allowed him to reach even bigger heights ahead of his highly-anticipated Golden Contract final with Ryan Walsh. Dickens (29-3, 11 KOs) defends his WBO European featherweight title against Walsh (26-2-2, 12 KOs) at Production Park Studios in Wakefield on Wednesday 2 December, live on Sky Sports in association with Matchroom Boxing, and on ESPN+ in association with Top Rank.
