Jaron Ennis: record, next fight and profile →
LAS VEGAS – The last time Thomas Dulorme faced a heavily favored, undefeated welterweight, the Puerto Rican veteran gave Eimantas Stanionis a more difficult fight than many handicappers and fans anticipated.
LAS VEGAS – Jaron Ennis knew almost immediately April 10 that he “had” Sergey Lipinets. The fast, powerful, skillful Philadelphia native determined that he demoralized Lipinets during the first round of a welterweight fight Ennis won by sixth-round knockout. Ennis sensed from Lipinets’ body language that the former IBF junior welterweight champion knew he was in the ring with an unusual opponent who would overwhelm him.
Ennis, Dulorme Weights Photos Gallery - The SHOWTIME CHAMPIONSHIP BOXING® telecast begins at 10 p.m. ET/7 p.m. PT and features rising welterweight star Jaron “Boots” Ennis in a 10-round showdown against veteran contender Thomas Dulorme in the co-main event. Kicking off the telecast, exciting unbeaten lightweight contender Michel Rivera faces Argentina’s Matías Romero in a 10-round attraction.
LAS VEGAS – Jamal James stands 6-feet-2, unusually tall for a boxer in the 147-pound division. The defending WBA world welterweight champion still came in nearly two full pounds underweight Friday for his fight against Radzhab Butaev on Saturday night. Minneapolis’ James (27-1, 12 KOs) stepped on the Nevada State Athletic Commission’s scale at 145.2 pounds, well below the maximum for the welterweight division.
LAS VEGAS – Thomas Dulorme didn’t dismiss Jaron Ennis’ obvious abilities. The veteran welterweight contender simply pointed out that the gifted Philadelphia fighter still has to establish himself against proven opponents before Dulorme will believe that Ennis is the future of their division. Dulorme considers himself to be the best opponent of Ennis’ career and promised to test Ennis in a 10-round bout Showtime will televise Saturday night from Mandalay Bay’s Michelob ULTRA Arena.

LAS VEGAS – Jaron Ennis didn’t watch a whole lot of the Eimantas Stanionis-Thomas Dulorme fight the night of April 10. Ennis was busy warming up for the main event that night, his sixth-round knockout of Sergey Lipinets. Philadelphia’s Ennis hasn’t reviewed film of Stanionis’ closely contested, 12-round victory over Lipinets, either, because his father/trainer, Derrick “Bozy” Ennis, studies footage for the team to help prepare his son for fights.
Exciting unbeaten welterweight sensation Jaron “Boots” Ennis will look to make it 26 knockouts in 28 fights when he faces veteran contender Thomas Dulorme in the 10-round co-main event live on SHOWTIME (10 p.m. ET/7 p.m. PT) Saturday, October 30 from Michelob ULTRA Arena at Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas in an event presented by Premier Boxing Champions.
A welterweight-themed card now graces Showtime’s active fourth-quarter schedule. BoxingScene.com has confirmed that the October 30 edition of Showtime Championship Boxing will feature two significant welterweight fights, topped by WBA “World” welterweight titlist Jamal James in a mandatory defense versus Russia’s Radzhab Butaev. As previously reported by BoxingScene.com senior writer/columnist Keith Idec, rising contender Jaron ‘Boots’ Ennis and former title challenger Thomas Dulorme are set to meet in the co-feature bout.
Stephen “Cool Boy Steph” Fulton has no doubt in his mind that he and Jaron “Boots” Ennis are the torchbearers for a new era of Philadelphia fighters.
