Former Commonwealth games gold medalist and current WBA world ranked # 7 Jarrod "Left Jab" Fletcher is back in action on Friday February 8th at Brisbane Entertainment Centre in Boondall, Brisbane. Competing on the undercard of Sonny Bill Williams vs Francois Botha, Fletcher has been given the opportunity to showcase his undoubted skills on the big stage which will go out across Australasia on MainEvent.

Sourcing an opponent for the bout proved harder than expected for manager Adam Wilcock from FightCard Promotions who said:

“Following his loss to Billy Joe Saunders in the UK we had people coming out of the woodwork to fight Jarrod, strangely after his comfortable win in Perth against Robbie Bryant they have seemed to disappear pretty quickly. It’s a shame there’s nobody in Australia prepared to put their hands up and actually fight Jarrod, but thankfully we have managed to lock in another credentialed and experienced opponent for Feb 8th ”. His opponent is Kiatchai Singwancha of Thailand who is a former PABA and WBF World champion sporting a record of 32-8. Singwancha will continue the trend of Fletcher only fighting the best possible available opponents. ‘Left Jab’ Fletcher headlined a couple of televised shows last year and plans to make the most of this opportunity to show the Australian public just how good he is and become a household name.

Singwancha is a long and rangy southpaw and on facing his opponent Fletcher was typically upbeat:

“I’ll fight anyone doesn’t matter which way they shape up. I’ve always enjoyed facing Southpaw’s and I’m looking forward to facing Kiatchai, it will be great to be back in the ring so early in the year and I’m ready for a successful 2013”. Fletcher recently captured the PABA middleweight title with a comprehensive victory over Perth’s Robbie "Bad Boy" Bryant (17-2) and with it became world ranked with the WBA. Team Fletcher is hoping a win over Singwancha can give him the boost in rankings he needs to position himself for a shot at the world title. Speaking to Fletcher's promoter and manager Adam Wilcock he said "Realistically Jarrod is only 3-4 fights away from contesting a world title and the opportunity to fight on the Sonny Bill Williams undercard will give him great exposure”.
