Puerto Rican undefeated prospect Janiel "Pototo" Rivera (9-0-2, 6KO’s) scored a convincing and important victory over Juan "Paisita" Lopez with a strong and powerful bodyshot knockout in the fourth round to capture the WBC’s vacant strawweight silver world title.

"Thank God we got a big win, I really still can not believe it. I have worked hard to achieve it. Now we are closer to realize my dream. I dedicate this win to my daughter, my family, and Puerto Rico. I also want to thank my team, Roberto Nevarez, Andres Ortiz, Jose Anibal Soto and Luis Cintron who have helped me to be here. We also thank Miguel Cotto and Héctor Soto and his team for the opportunity and for believing in me," Rivera said.

"Janiel had a great victory in Mexico against a Mexican and that's a lot to say from this young talent. And became the second WBC silver champion under Miguel Cotto Promotions and H2 Entertainment in less than a week. Janiel and Jayson Vélez both should be fighting for world titles in the first half of 2013” Héctor said.
