Kings Promotions and Salita Promotions announced the signing of a co-promotional agreement with undefeated welterweight prospect Janelson Figueroa Bocachica.

Rising undefeated welterweight prospect Janelson Figueroa Bocachica earned a closely-contested majority decision victory over Mark Reyes Jr. in the entertaining main event of Wednesday night’s ShoBox: The New Generation telecast from Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn., as ShoBox continues its 20th anniversary year as the premier boxing series aimed at developing prospects into contenders and world champions.

UNCASVILLE, Connecticut – Mark Reyes Jr.’s record wasn’t as padded as Janelson Figueroa Bocachica suggested before they fought Wednesday night. Reyes gave the previously unbeaten Bocachica the most difficult fight of his career, but Bocachica remained unbeaten by winning a 10-round majority decision at Mohegan Sun Arena. CompuBox credited these previously undefeated welterweights for throwing the exact same number of punches and landing almost precisely the same amount.

Mark Reyes Jr. is undefeated and has knocked out 12 of his 14 foes in professional fights. Janelson Figueroa Bocachica has watched clips from a few of Reyes’ knockout victories, but he still isn’t sold on his opponent’s power. Detroit’s Bocachica can’t wait to show Reyes just how steep of a step up in competition he’ll take Wednesday night in their 10-round welterweight fight.

The co-main event will feature unbeaten Russian and Detroit-trained Vladimir Shishkin (11-0, 7 KOs) taking on Ghana’s Sena Agbeko (23-1, 18 KOs) in a 10-round super middleweight matchup, while Alejandro Guerrero (12-0, 9 KOs) of Houston, Texas, returns to ShoBox and faces Mexico’s Abraham Montoya (19-2-1, 14 KOs) in an eight-round lightweight bout.

Exciting welterweight prospect Janelson Figueroa Bocachica will meet fellow undefeated Mark Reyes, Jr., in a ShoBox: The New Generation main event bout Wednesday, February 17 live on SHOWTIME at 9 p.m. ET/PT from Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn. Bocachica vs. Reyes headlines a four-fight card featuring eight compelling prospects with a combined record of 119-4-1, five of whom are undefeated.

Janelson Bocachica backed up some of his tough talk Wednesday night. The brash welterweight prospect from Detroit didn’t even need a full round to knock out an opponent that was supposed to test him at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut. Bocachica (16-0, 11 KOs) dropped Puerto Rico’s Nicklaus Flaz (9-1, 7 KOs) three times and knocked him out 2:43 into their scheduled eight-round, 147-pound fight.
