Jamaine Ortiz: record, next fight and profile →
A strong showing in his first televised headliner is just the beginning for Jamaine Ortiz. The most recent edition of Showtime’s “ShoBox: The New Generation” series saw Ortiz soundly outpoint Nahir Albright over ten rounds Friday evening at Caribe Royale Resort in Orlando, Florida. The decision to take the fight was means to an end for the unbeaten lightweight, who has much loftier goals in mind.
Jamaine Ortiz got the credit he deserved for his work this time. In his first fight since a debatable draw with Joseph Adorno nearly 10 rounds earlier, the unbeaten Ortiz defeated Nahir Albright by unanimous decision Friday night in their 10-round lightweight fight at Caribe Royale Resort in Orlando, Florida. Judges Brian Garry (98-92), Alex Levin (97-93) and Joseph Ware (97-93) appreciated the work of an accurate, active Ortiz and scored the 135-pound prospect the winner of their “ShoBox: The New Generation” main event.
Jamaine Ortiz has vowed to force Nahir Albright to sing a different tune this weekend. The pair of rising lightweights collide in an intriguing style mix atop a Showtime ShoBox: The New Generation doubleheader this Friday from Caribe Royale Resort in Orlando, Florida. Both have appeared on televised and streaming platforms in recent outings but make their series debut in their upcoming scheduled ten-round affair.

ShoBox: The New Generation returns to Caribe Royale Resort in Orlando, Fla. for the second time in two months on Friday, February 18 for an exciting tripleheader featuring six prospects with a combined record of 74-2-2, five new to the developmental series. The action takes place live on SHOWTIME at 9 p.m. ET/PT.
Jamaine Ortiz doesn’t care who he fights next, nor is he specific in terms of calling out potential opponents in the 135-pound weight class. Anyone with a belt will do.
Despite a draw with unbeaten Joseph “Blessed Hands” Adorno (14-0-2, 12 KOs) last Saturday night in Kissimmee, Florida, lightweight prospect Jamaine “The Technician” Ortiz (14-0-1, 8 KOs) displayed his vast skills and courage on ESPN+.
Joseph Adorno and Jamaine Ortiz went well beyond their pre-fight vow to steal the show. The unbeaten lightweights waged war for eight rounds, with a winner being the only thing missing in the end as they fought to an eight-round majority draw Saturday evening in front of a sellout crowd at Silver Spurs Arena in Kissimmee, Florida.
Nobody would have blamed Joseph Adorno had he chosen to go any other route this weekend. The unbeaten lightweight prospect has not fought in more than 15 months and barely escaped with a draw on that occasion. Two fights have fallen through since then, each time met with the demand to line up another, no matter how tough.
