Last weekend, former four division world champion Adrien Broner stopped Ashley Theophane in the ninth round of their Premier Boxing Champions [PBC] televised bout from Washington, DC.

Mayweather, who promotes Theophane, was trading words with Broner for the last couple of months.

Mayweather retired from the ring last September after raising his record to 49-0 with a twelve round unanimous decision over former welterweight champipn Andre Berto. According to the former five division world champion, there is no interest in coming back to the ring.

Trainer Jeff Mayweather, who is Floyd's uncle, says Broner tailored his entire image based on his nephew - and he feels that move has worked out well for him.

He says Broner has given himself a Mayweather-like love/hate relationship with the fans - who watch his fights with the desire of seeing him lose. Broner continues to draw strong ratings on television.

"I think that his whole career and everything about him was based on trying to be the image of Floyd. The one thing about it is that it actually worked for him, even though he’s a loose cannon outside of the ring, it’s still working for him because he’s made it where people hate him so much that they’ll just come see and hope that he gets beat and that’s always good for a fighter because that means that people are paying. And as long as people are paying, he’s going to continue to make good paydays.," Jeff told On The Ropes Boxing Radio.
