WBC USNBC welterweight champion Ivan Golub is primed for his return on August 1 in Pittsburgh, trainer Andre Rozier comments

Golub was part of Ukraine's standout amateur setup before heading stateside to turn professional, linking up with promoter Lou DiBella and veteran coach Rozier. The welterweight standout has amassed 16 wins with 12 coming inside the distance since his relocation to the United States and gave his assessment on his career so far.

The Ukranian said, "Firstly thank you to my whole team, my manager, my promoter Lou DiBella and my coach Andre Rozier and the team in Brooklyn for guiding me to titles already in my professional career, and this is a trend that I want to continue.

"I am happy with how things have gone so far in my career and I believe that I have the team around me that will guide me all the way to the top and to world titles."

'The Volk' currently holds the WBC USNBC title, giving him a world rating and the now Brooklyn based boxer-puncher is being tipped for the top by his head trainer, which comes in the form of New York mainstay Andre Rozier.

Rozier gave his assessment on his Ukrainian charge, "Ivan is a really high-quality fighter, he is dedicated and a very hard worker. I've been extremely impressed by him in this camp as I have seen some massive improvements and I believe he is going to deliver a career-best performance on August 1 in Pennsylvania.

"I firmly believe that given the opportunity he will become a world champion I have absolutely no doubt that he is the dark horse of the welterweight division. The boxing world will soon know all about Ivan Golub."

Alongside Rozier, Golub is being tipped for the top by many elite figures within the New York fight scene and the former amateur standout opened up about what he wants going forward in his career.

He said, "I want to be a world champion. That is what I got into boxing for, to become the best in the world and I firmly believe that if I am given the opportunity I will beat the best fighters in the division and I am out to make a serious statement on August 1."
