Isaac Dogboe is Very Eager To Unify With Danny Roman

WBA Champion Danny Roman (25-2-1. 9 KOs) is just days removed from his second successful title defense, yet he is already looking ahead to his next fight and he would like it to be against one of the other belt holders.

"I think a unification fight is in everyone's best interest," Roman said. "I'll face any of the other champions. Bring them on. I just want to fight the best that this division has to offer."

Roman's options include Rey Vargas (WBC), Ryosuke Iwasa (IBF), and Isaac Dogboe (WBO).

Roman's fight on Saturday, a dominating points win against mandatory challenger and previously unbeaten Moises Flores (25-1, 17 KOs), has cleared the decks for the Los Angeles native. With the mandatory behind him, Roman has the flexibility to make a unification fight happen.

"We're definitely going to push to fight one of the other three champions," said Alex Camponovo, matchmaker and general manager for Thompson Boxing. "It's the logical choice moving forward. There are some scheduling hurdles to overcome, but I think it gets done at some point this year and we'll have a huge fight to look forward to."

Dogboe let is be known that he has no problem with facing Roman in the near future.

The undefeated puncher, who back in April shocked Jessie Magdaleno for the WBO world title, is planning to make a voluntary defense in an ESPN televised fight on August 25th.

“Firstly, congratulations on your win Danny Roman. You did what you had to do. I want to unify and you want to unify, we both want to unify. Let’s do it. Let’s set the division on fire," Dogboe said.

Dogboe is aligned with Top Rank, who have an exclusive content deal with ESPN. Roman's last contest was televised by Showtime, but the WBA champion is a free agent when it comes to television.

I was impressed with Roman..this is a good matchup. I think Vargas starches all of them, however.

Very good quality match up! Roman is artistically pleasing to the eyes with his high volume punches and always shifting in and out! Dogboe is just a baby monster with potential to be a scary Leviathan once he grows in…
Lol, Dogboe look like Bobby Lashley in that pic. For a second before I entered the site and seen his pic I thought Bobby Lashley was entering the Heavyweight division in boxing. Lol
Lol... True that.
