Tyron Zeuge will still have the chance to put his unbeaten record and regional title on the line versus Eduard Gutknecht. It will just no longer take place on Sauerland Event's big 35th anniversary show.

A foot injury has forced the rising super middleweight contender from the September 26 bill in Berlin, Germany. Zeuge sustained the wound in a traffic accident, resulting in his crossroads bout with Gutknecht being pushed back.

“Luckily for Tyron this is just a minor injury,” explains Zeuge’s trainer, Karsten Roewer. However it has left him unable to train and therefore unable to compete on September 26.

The rest of the show remains intact, with Jack Culcay facing Dennis Hogan for a secondary super welterweight title in the evening's main event.

The card marks the 35th anniversary—to the day—of Sauerland Event's first ever boxing eventin Germany, which took place on September 26, 1980.

Its first home show was held in Cologne, building the foundation for the development of future stars. Included among its vast stable through the years was Graciano Rocchigiani, who became founder Wilfried Sauerland's first world champion after an 8th round knockout of Vincent Boulware in their March '88 super middleweight title fight.

From there, Sauerland grew into a promotional powerhouse in Germany before eventually spreading its brand worldwide. Decades of success have led to the planned celebration later this month in Berlin, but will no longer include Zeuge (17-0, 11KOs), who will be honored during the show but will have to wait until year's end before his next ring appearance.

“On behalf of everyone at Team Sauerland, I would like to wish Tyron a speedy recovery, noted Frederick Ness, CEO of Sauerland EventIt is an unfortunate occurrence, but once Tyron has recovered, we will look to reschedule the contest for later this year.”
