Huck Training With New Coach, Maccarinelli vs. Amar?

By Per Ake Persson

Club Sportif Nouzonville Ardennes from France were the sole bidders at the purse bids for EU light heavyweight champ Medhi Amar´s mandatory defence against Welsh challenger Enzo Maccarinelli. CSNA bid 12,550,00 Euro and plan to stage the fight March 19 in Charleville.

Maccarinelli (41-7) beat Roy Jones, Jr, in a fight made at cruiserweight last weekend and hasen´t made 175 since fighting Juergen Braehmer in April of 2014.

Amar (32-4-2) is unbeaten since 2012 and this is second defence of the title he won earlier this year.

Former WBO cruiserweight champion Marco Huck is in training for his fight against IBO ruler Ola Afolabi on February 27 in Halle / Westfalen with Konny Mittermeier as his new coach. Mittermeier was himself a good pro in the late 80´s and has since trained a number of good boxers.

Huck was trained by Ulli Wegner until leaving Sauerland when Don House took over up until the the knockout loss to Krzystof Glowacki in August.
