A scale malfunction made Emanuel Navarrete and Joet Gonzalez wait a few extra minutes to make weight Thursday afternoon in San Diego.

Mexico’s fighting cowboy is ready to roll into San Diego. Two-division kingpin Emanuel “Vaquero” Navarrete will defend his WBO featherweight world title against mandatory challenger Joet Gonzalez on Friday, Oct. 15 at Pechanga Arena San Diego.

Emanuel Navarrete will begin his second title reign in hostile territory. The two-division and reigning WBO featherweight titlist will hit the road for his first defense, as he faces Puerto Rico’s Christopher ‘Pitufo’ Diaz. Their bout will take place April 24 on an ESPN platform live from Kissimmee, Florida. The venue is still being finalized although all indications point to it taking place at Silver Spurs Arena at Osceola Heritage Park, multiple sources have informed BoxingScene.com.

Henry ‘Moncho’ Lebron never promised to outdo his cousin against their common opponent. It was a smart decision, as the unbeaten featherweight prospect from Aguadilla, Puerto Rico was simply forced to settle for his latest win. Lebrón picked up his second victory of 2020, scoring an eight-round unanimous decision over Colombia’s Luis Porozo. Scores were in their Telemundo-televised chief support, though airing on Telemundo after the evening's main event Friday evening from a crowdless Osceola Heritage Park in Kissimmee, Florida.

Saul 'Baby' Juarez and Axel Aragon are set for their battle of former title challengers eager to return to the win column. Both boxers made weight ahead of their scheduled 10-round junior flyweight main event, which airs live Friday evening on Telemundo beginning at 12:00am ET from a crowdless Osceola Heritage Park in Kissimmee, Florida.

As Top Rank aims to return to “The Bubble” in Las Vegas later this month, a trio of Boricua prospects under its banner will find ring action in a location closer to home. Unbeaten rising blue-chip talents Henry Lebron, Orlando Gonzalez and Xander Zayas will all appear on separate editions of Boxeo Telemundo, Top Rank revealed on Tuesday which confirmed a previous tweet from Saturday Night Boxing's Adam Abramowitz. Lebron will fight August 21, followed one week later by Gonzalez on August 28 and then—as previously reported by BoxingScene.com—Zayas performing on the September 4 summer season finale.

His opponent May 25 at Osceola Heritage Park in Kissimmee, Florida, is Antonio Lozada Jr., who in March of last year knocked out then-undefeated Felix Verdejo in the 10th round. Verdejo and Pedraza both hail from Puerto Rico, and Pedraza, who is coming off a unanimous decision loss to Vasiliy Lomachenko, hopes to avenge his countryman's defeat. (photos by Peter Amador)

Masayuki Ito won the WBO junior lightweight title last July in Kissimmee, Florida. For title defense number two, he’s returning to the city of his greatest triumph. Ito, who recently signed a long-term co-promotional contract with Top Rank, will defend his title against 2012 U.S. Olympic boxing team captain and U.S Marine Corps veteran Jamel “Semper Fi” Herring Saturday, May 25 at Osceola Heritage Park. Ito-Herring will headline a special Memorial Day weekend edition of Top Rank on ESPN beginning at 10 p.m. ET/7 p.m. PT on ESPN and ESPN Deportes. In the 10-round lightweight co-feature, former two-division world champion Jose “Sniper” Pedraza looks to get back in the win column against Antonio Lozada Jr.

On Saturday night, world ranked Christopher "Pitufo" Diaz and Luis "Popeye" Lebrón picked up big wins as part of latest edition of the series "Sabado de Campeones," which was held at the San Juan Ballroom of the Sheraton Puerto Rico Hotel & Casino in San Juan.
