Eddie Hearn, promoter for heavyweight contender Derek Chisora, views his fighter as a perfect comeback for former WBC world champion Deontay Wilder.

In a bruising fight, Wilder was knocked out by WBC champion Tyson Fury in their trilogy showdown in October. Wilder dropped Fury twice, but he himself was knocked down three times before the fight was waved off in the eleventh.

Chisora was in action earlier this month, when he suffered a twelve round decision loss to former WBO champion Joseph Parker. The British veteran was dropped three times in the bout and took quite a bit of punishment during the action.

Wilder is planning to fight again in the first half of 2022, according to his handlers.

Hearn believes he possesses the perfect opponent.

"Deontay Wilder, we want to see you back in the ring. I've got the perfect guy for you - Derek Chisora," Hearn told the DAZN Boxing Show.

"Come on, he's getting on a little bit, he's coming off three defeats on the spin now. Easy comeback fight for Deontay Wilder. Dereck's ready."

In statements that were made in the aftermath of Chisora's most recent defeat, Hearn explained this his boxer is still capable of beating boxers like Wilder.

But, Hearn explained that Chisora would have to weather a potentially dangerous storm in the early rounds. If it goes beyond the fourth round, Hearn gives his man a good shot to have his hand raised.

"All Chisora’s losses have come at elite level, and Wilder is elite level," Hearn said.

“Listen, Chisora can beat Wilder. If he hits him with a big shot. I tell you what, if that fight goes past four rounds, Chisora wins that fight. But he’s got to get past four rounds and that’s gonna be really dangerous against someone who punches as hard as Wilder.”
