Representatives from all three camps spent more than eight hours speaking to each other on a video conference on Wednesday in an effort to smooth things over, multiple sources told BoxingScene.com.
Promoter Eddie Hearn is hoping Canelo Alvarez can resolve his legal issues with Golden Boy Promotions in a timely manner. Last week, Canelo filed a $280 million breach of contract lawsuit against his promoter, Golden Boy Promotions, Golden Boy's CEO Oscar De La Hoya, and streaming service DAZN.

Oscar de la Hoya remains hopeful of moving forward in a working relationship with his company’s biggest client, even as the two remain on opposing sides of an ongoing legal battle. As previously reported by BoxingScene.com, a lawsuit filed by Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez against de la Hoya, Golden Boy Promotions and sports streaming service DAZN was dismissed by the U.S. District Court in the Central District of California on Friday. The case was rejected with the request for amendment on the part of Alvarez to “allege affirmatively the actual citizenship of the relevant parties” named as defendants.

Alvarez chose Saunders over Smith as his opponent for a May 2 fight at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, but that event was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Golden Boy Promotions President Eric Gomez, who promotes Mexican superstar Saul "Canelo" Alvarez, indicates that his boxer is very eager to fight overseas. At the moment, Canelo is still scheduled to fight on September 12 - but that is becoming less likely as the weeks pass by.
