At the Auditorio del Estado in Mexicali, Baja California, Mexico, WBO junior flyweight champion Giovani Segura (27-1-1, 23KOs) stopped Ivan Calderon (34-2-1, 6KOs) in the third round of their rematch. Last August, Segura stopped Calderon in eight rounds.

Segura started pressing the fight in the first round. Calderon was quickly moving away and holding when Segura closed the gap. Calderon established a jab to keep Segura back. Segura started throwing to the body in the first round to slow Segura down. The second round started with Segura digging heavy hooks to the body. Calderon was trying to fight fire with fire. Some of Segura's hooks to the body were going low. He received his first warning in the second round.

In the third round, Segura really poured it on as he pressed Calderon against the ropes and battered him with punches to the head and body. Calderon could not escape away from the ropes and took a beating until he went down to a knee and the ref stopped the fight.

An IBF featherweight eliminator saw Jorge Lacierva (39-7-6, 26KOs) won a twelve round unanimous decision over Fernando Beltran Jr. (35-5-1, 19KOs). Lacierva's body works and the straight right hands were the keys to his victory. The scores were 118-109, 119-109 and 119-109.

Super flyweight prospect Alsono "Finito" Lopez (9-0-1, 3KOs) went six rounds for the first time in his career, winning a six round unanimous decision over Jorge Guerrero (3-5, 2KOs). Other than having his knees rocked in the third round, Lopez dominated the action. The scores were 59-55, 60-54 and 60-55.
