Gervonta Davis will defend his WBA lightweight title against WBA 130-pound champ Lamont Roach at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn on March 1, it was confirmed on Friday. According to a press release from Premier Boxing Champions (PBC), the fight will be officially announced at a press conference at the Barclays Center on Tuesday.

Davis, 30-0 (28 KOs), will be making his first appearance in the ring since knocking out Frank Martin in the eighth round at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas on June 15. Roach, 25-1-1 (10 KOs), fell short in his first attempt at a title, dropping a decision to Jamel Herring for the WBO belt in 2019, but captured the WBA strap via a split decision win over Hector Garcia last November before defending it with a knockout of previously undefeated Feargal McCrory in June.

Davis and Roach had originally been scheduled to face off in December in Houston, but the fight was moved for unspecified reasons.

The bout will headline a PBC on Prime pay-per-view. The undercard has not yet been announced.
